LASU FACULTY OF LAW, THE HOME OF CONTROVERSIAL STUDENT ELECTIONS

The Lagos State University, LASU, Faculty of Law, otherwise known as LASULAWS, has once again become the center of attention for all the wrong reasons. 

In what has been dubbed as the most controversial student election in recent memory, the Faculty of Law has become the Faculty of Seasoned Movies and Unlimited Drama.

The latest election saw a number of shocking twists and turns, with the disqualification of the apparent front-runner only two days before the election (Stakeholder) and a call for support from him to his supporters to support Clyde. 

The results of the election were surprising, with Clyde emerging as the President-Elect, leaving many students wondering how he managed to secure the majority of the votes. This has raised questions about the validity of the election and the role of the Independent Electoral Committee in overseeing the process.

The political apathy among LASU students is also a cause for concern, as many students complain about the leadership but fail to participate in the election process by casting their votes. 

Also, the fact that some students were unable to vote due to their voting pins being used raises further concerns about the transparency of the election.

In addition, the recent events surrounding the Faculty of Law have raised serious questions about the motivations of the candidates and the credibility of the Independent Electoral Committee. The 24-hour sales of form, the sudden emergence of new candidates, and the planned presidential debate and manifesto day have all contributed to a sense of confusion and uncertainty among students.

The Lagos State University management has stated that the 33rd LASUSU General Faculties Elections will be held across the three campuses on February 8th, 2023. 

However, the decision by the Independent Electoral Committee to schedule a presidential debate and manifesto day on February 7th raises questions about their commitment to following the university's instructions.

Nonetheless, the LASULAWS election season has been a dramatic affair, marked by controversies, surprises, and unexpected twists. 

While the results of the election may have come as a shock to some, it serves as a reminder of the importance of participating in the election process and holding the elected officials accountable.

 To all LASU students, grab some popcorn and get ready for what promises to be an entertaining and dramatic election season.
